  1. I can’t really review the scale because it was defective; the number display wasn’t operating correctly. I had to send it back. It seemed a bit flimsy and light to me.

I bought this scale on sale and it seemed like a great deal. Started to use it, but mid-weigh, the scale would shut off before I had a chance to weigh my material (ball bearing shot for fishing weights). If I didn’t get to the weight I wanted before it shut off, I’d have to take the shot off of the scale before turning it back on because it would zero out (tare) with the shot I already had weighed out. What a pain.

At first I thought I’d gotten a defective scale, so I came to Amazon to check out reviews to see if anybody else had the same issues I have with the scale. Sure enough, others have complained about the same problems. Back to the store it goes.

    My opinion: DO NOT BUY!

I have been using this scale for a couple of weeks, and I am so disappointed with it that I am giving it my first Amazon review ever!

It shuts off while I am in the middle of doing things, making my weights completely useless. And it’s not that I’m not fast enough… I scoop some protein powder into my mixer, immediately go to put a second scoop in and the thing will have shut off!

At first I thought the batteries it came with were dead, so I went to the store and spent $10 getting replacement batteries, which I put in yesterday. Nope! Same result.

I am very not happy, and I hope I can find my receipt and box, so I can return this scale and get one that actually WORKS.

My wife and I bought this scale because she often works with large recipes in the kitchen and I have a beer brewing hobby. We picked up this scale at a local department store because it was cheap, and we got what we paid for. Since it is powered by batteries, it is programmed to conserve power – which would be great if it didn’t shut off right in the middle of weighing something! This is very irritating when your hands are full, you’ve got stuff all over the counter, time is critical because you’re trying to work with hot things and weigh something at the same time, and right when you start weighing something the stupid scale shuts off. Really stupid, poor, idiotic design. Seems like a big “duh” to me – who the heck designed this thing? Argh… just writing about it makes me mad. Look at my other reviews on here and you’ll see I don’t typically bash products. But this thing sucks so bad I had to get on Amazon and warn the world.

I’m used to laboratory Mettler Toledo scales which are flawless and accurate beyond milligrams, but I haven’t found a good scale for the kitchen yet in a practical price range. Don’t buy this scale… if it didn’t mean that sales would increase, I’d buy a bunch of these and burn them to save the next guy.
