For some reason that I haven’t been able to figure out, this scale’s capacity is a couple of pounds lighter then same model sold at other cooking/kitchen tool sites (for the same price).

This scale is great when it works, which is seldom. It keeps racing forward and generating numbers without my putting anything on it. It generates weird figures that aren’t numbers at all. Avoid it like the plague.

… it’s just not very good. After repeatedly testing it next to my old scale, the balance of the Soehnle continues to be delicate and off. I gave it to The Goodwill. I ended up buying the Oxo scale with the pull-out display instead.

This is a beautiful scale but anyone who’s taken a Physics 101 class can tell you that it can’t possibly be accurate for normal use. Because it is supported on one side, the distance you place the food from the support will directly impact the moment on the support and therefore, the mass that is displayed. I would assume that the mass displayed is assuming everything is perfectly in the middle which is not likely to be the case for normal use. There’s little point in claiming that it is accurate to 0.05 g then. This could account for why the display fluctuates for some people. Sure is pretty though.

This product is wonderful and i am very glad i have bought it. Its very easy to use and practical. I will recommend this scale to anyone.
