A sleek stainless-steel base and glass platform make this electronic scale slim enough to slip in a drawer and elegant enough to leave out on the kitchen counter. Food can be weighed directly on the glass weighing platform, or you can use any bowl you want. The Aquatronic features a special design that weighs liquids as well as solids, in the same bowl if desired, up to 11 pounds/175 fluid ounces (5 kg/5000 ml) in precise 1/8-ounce/fluid-ounce (2-g/2-ml) increments.
Like all of Salter’s electronic kitchen scales, this one features a highly accurate strain-gauge weight sensing system, LCD display, lb/kg conversion switch, add-and-weigh function, low battery indicator, and auto zero function. Measuring approximately 8 by 8 by 1-1/2 inches, the Aquatronic comes with replaceable, long-life lithium batteries and is covered by a 10-year warranty. –Ann Bieri

I’m on a weight-loss diet, and this scale has made my life easier. I can weigh portions quickly and easily. I enjoy being able to put my dish on the scale, zero it out, and add my food to the dish. When making salads, I just weight each salad ingredient as I add it to my salad without changing dishes. It’s very accurate and easy to keep clean.

If you are looking to buy any of the digital 9 volt battery Salter scales, stop now. They are extremely sensitive to movement and lose the abilty to reset themselves if moved, jostled or over-weighted in anyway. The directions are horrible and the company has no idea what customer service means. Looks great on the counter, and that is about it.
Mine is going in the trash, and I am going back to the old fashioned, not so lovely, but fully functional weighted design. See ya Salter…..

This is a “must have” for any cook. No more guessing on how much to put in the recipe. Being able to set a bowl or plate on the scale and having it start at zero makes it so easy to measure.

I’ve had this scale for a couple of years and it still performs perfectly every time I use it. There are several ways it can be used to enhance cooking projects. I particularly like the fact that it can be stored up on edge as I don’t have much counter space. I have actually stacked stuff on it when it’s turned off and sitting flat and that doesn’t seem to bother it, but it seems better to store it vertically so that’s what I do.
I use my own receptacle for holding whatever I’m measuring–place the bowl or whatever on the scale and push the on/zero button. Then add what you want to weigh and it will weigh only the addition. If you press the on/zero button again, it will reset to zero so you can add something else and weigh only the new addition.
Having both US and metric measurements is super if you are using a European recipe that gives quantities in grams. I don’t have to worry about converting it because the scale does it for me.
One button on the right front is to turn the scale on/zero and one for off. On the left front is a button for dry ingredients and one for liquid measurements. Each will show metric to begin with but will switch to US measure when you push it again.
I got the scale to measure portion size while dieting and found that using it when cooking also helped me calculate the calories in combination dishes. I also use it to get the weight of something I’m planning to put in my convection/microwave, which calculates cooking time or defrost time based on weight. The scale has turned out to be much more useful than I expected.
There is an easily accessible battery compartment on the underside when you need to change the batteries, but so far, I haven’t had to. All in all, I am very satisfied with this scale and highly recommend it.

I bought this for my son and his wife. He loves to cook and has been wanting one for a long time. This is similar to the one that Alton Brown uses on his cooking show.
