I spent hours looking for the scale I wanted to purchase. I wanted to make baking easier by using a scale and this is the scale for the job! I even weigh mail with it. This scale is terrific…I use it to make bread,cakes and much more.

This is probably a great scale, however this is not the scale I received when I placed my order. The scale I was sent has a rectangular platform and it does not stand on its side for storage (the feature that sold this scale for me) though the box clearly lists it as model #6055.
When I tried to get the correct scale I e-mailed to explain the problem, but was sent the same rectangular scale AGAIN.

I really like that the product gives very precise measurements such as as fractions down to the nearest 1/8. (When measuring in ounces). Also the removable cover makes it very easy to clean. It also has a very high maximum weight.

This thing is so great I’ll never have to buy another! I just replaced its batteries after almost two years of faithful service. It’s simple, precise enough (come on, when does anyone really need tenths of a gram?).
I subtracted one star because of the way the scale measures ounces–It uses fractions which is mildly inconvenient but understandable considering its lack of decimal measuring. If I need more precise ounce measurements I’ll often simply convert the grams measurement.
If this one ever dies I will buy another Salter in a heartbeat.

I love this digital scale, especially the “zeroing” out function. It’s easy to use, compact, easy to clean, and measures out in fractions of an ounce. I would definitely recommend it.
