There is nothing wrong with this scale. The control switch is touch sensitive. Only the slightest pressure is needed. Turning the scale on requires a momentary pause when touching the switch but after that the tare feature is instantaneous. Ignore the instruction sheet that instructs the user to ‘press’ on the switch. Its very low profile and ease of cleaning make it a gem.

  2. The on/off switch will drive you crazy. It is frustrating & time consuming to have to play with the switch.

The only reason I didn’t give this scale a “5 star” rating was that the on-off button is a little fussy. The scale has been invaluable as a way to weigh my foods, allowing me to calculate a more accurate number of calories.

This scale has numerous functionality problems, the foremost being that the On/Off/Tare button is part of the scale itself, so it is nearly impossible to touch the button without adding the weight of your finger. I can’t begin to describe how frustrating it is to have to try to tare something 6 or 7 times before it works!

The other main problem is that the scale routinely shuts itself off, which makes using this scale even more frustrating than having no scale at all.

  5. This is an accurate scale, which is why it gets two stars. But it’s very hard to get it to turn on, and it’s hard to get it to stay on. The battery compartment seems too large for the AAA batteries; this may be part of the problem. There’s also no way to get it to default to grams to start. You have to turn it on, which is the first hurdle, and then reach under to press the button to grams. This often turns it off (see above re: battery compartment) or zeros it out instead of switching it to grams. Once you do get it to grams, if you jiggle the scale it turns off again. Buy a scale with a better rating; this one isn’t worth it.
