I wish I had known before I bought it that the units button is on the underside of the unit, a small recessed button that looks more like a reset button than a vital component of a robust scale. I will be returning it because I don’t want to have to pick it up off the counter every time I want to switch from grams to ounces. Also when I do that I seem to throw the taring off. I don’t feel it’s worth the effort. The touchscreen is nice though.

The Tare function never working properly. It ruined a quality set of rechargeable batteries, then a set of Energizer Alkaline batteries. When I tried to power on–would find the batteries unusable. Finally, after 3 uses the scale stopped working alltogether. As another user stated…each time you’d place the same weight item on the glass pad would get a different reading.
Save your money and avoid this unit like the H1N1 Flu!

I was mostly attracted to this scale because of its great reviews and its .05 oz increments. I bought this scale mostly to weigh postal items, but have found it entertaining to weigh random stuff. It’s a little awkward to weigh cats on it but it’s doable if your cat is small enough. I like the different output formats – kg/g/oz/lb.

This is a smart, sleek scale to keep on the counter. Very sensitive, so don’t treat it roughly. A scale is so necessary if you are serious about losing weight. The public’s concept of normal portions is so distorted now because of eating out. Nobody knows what’s normal anymore. Restaurants serve about twice what we should eat. By weighing things you’ll know what 3 ounces of meat look like for instance, or an ounce of cheese or nuts. I am very happy with this scale.

I was really looking forward to using this scale, but when it arrived it didn’t work. I could only get error messages. I tried switching the batteries, and still only got an error message. I hate to give negative reviews, especially when this could have been an isolated incident, but I’ve noticed others have had similar problems, so maybe there are some quality issues with this scale. I chose not to get a replacement of the same product.
