At least, it doesn’t read in 0.5 Gm. increments (indeed, the packaging itself states accuracy to within 1 Gm.). I bought this based on the 0.5 gm increment blurb in product description so you can imagine that I was a bit disappointed by this, and I am.
Nevertheless, the scale is presently being offered at such a low price that it is difficult to grumble. One hopes, though, that the 30 Year Warranty is not equally inaccurate for this would mean the warranty period is cut to 15 years. Frankly, this scale has the look and feel of something that will last only a few years so it will be interesting to see how well this warranty is honored.
Another thing that should be noted about it is that this seller does NOT include a wall plug-in converter unit so that one must use 4 Triple-A sized batteries to operate the scale. I just got it so don’t know how long they last.
Also, the 5000g calibration weight is NOT included in this stripped down, scale and bowl only package so we must only hope it never needs calibration.
On the upside, this scale is very easy to set up and use. It also is accurate to around one gram. The included bowl is a big help; although, one can substitute one’s own vessel if necessary; the scale does Tare weight and also ‘counts’ items by allowing one to deduct the weight of 10, 20, 50 or 100 items so that one can fill the bowl until it registers the weight of 50 items.
This function is Excellent for heavier items. It isn’t so hot on stuff that weighs around a gram.
