I have owned this scale for two years and have always liked it because it seems to read five pounds ligher than every other scale. Not exactly great if you are trying to actually lose weight. Now that I am, it is pretty useless, because you can get five different readings in the same weigh-in with a range of five pounds. It is also very bulky for apartment dwellers.

I just bought two more of these for friends of mine. I find that the weight reads true if I make sure that it starts from zero each time. My first one has served me perfectly for over a year now. I use it to weigh my Primal Athletes who range from 113 pounds to 372 pounds. The readings are consistent.

I had used similar looking versions of the health-o-meter raised dial platform scale at friends homes in the past. They had been very consistant, in that when one got on and off the scale, the same measurement was received. The location one stood had little affect.
I purchased this meter expecting the same performance. I found that the returned weight varies by as much as 5 lbs when I weigh myself several times at the same setting. This occurs even when I try to be as systematic as possible about standing in the same location with the same relative weight distributrion between my feet. When standing on the scale and shifting my weight from one foot to the other, I can actually obtain a 10 lbs weight variation. The performance is similar to the $10 scales I had been using previously. At least the dial is easier to read.

This was a replacement for a floor model of the same brand. Large dial is easy to read. Solid construction. Major complaint is that weight can vary by as much as 5 lbs, depending on where you stand & how you lean. The floor model was much more precise.
